A reflection on a Illuminating Scene: Crafting Dynamic 3D Lighting Setup in Blender

Illuminating Scene: Crafting
Dynamic 3D Lighting Setup in Blender

The “Illuminating Scene: Crafting Dynamic 3D Lighting Setup in
Blender” workshop organized by PRIMORIX was an engaging and
educational event held at Gordon College, Room 517, on November 29,
2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The workshop introduced participants to
the fundamentals of 3D lighting in Blender, including the software interface,
different types of lights, and the use of shadows to create depth and realism.
Led by Mr. Bobby Ken Morata of Team PRIMORIX, the workshop attracted
Senior High School SPA students from Olongapo City National High School
and students from Lyceum of Subic Bay, all eager to learn about lighting in
3D animation.

Key Takeaways: What I learned from the Webinar

The main lesson I gained from this workshop is the importance of lighting in 3D animation. I realized that lighting is not just about making a scene bright, it sets the mood, guides the viewer’s attention, and enhances the realism of the work. Properly placed lights and shadows can transform a simple scene into a visually compelling story. Another key takeaway was understanding the effort required to manage a technical workshop. Organizing such an event requires careful planning to balance lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, ensuring that even beginners can follow along and apply what they learn.

Turning Insight into Action: How I can Apply The LessonS

As a student and aspiring animator, I can use these insights to improve my
own 3D projects. I now appreciate the power of lighting in storytelling and will
be more deliberate when creating scenes in Blender. Additionally, organizing or
assisting in workshops taught me valuable skills in communication, planning,
and guiding others through technical tasks, which I can apply in future
academic or professional projects.

Event Highlights: What A webinar Stand Out

Several aspects made this workshop particularly impactful. The hands-on
exercises allowed participants to immediately apply the techniques being
taught, reinforcing understanding and building confidence. The speaker’s clear explanations and practical demonstrations helped simplify complex concepts for beginners. The enthusiasm of the students and the interactive nature of the workshop created a positive and motivating learning environment.

Suggestion for Future Improvements

This workshop showed that well-planned technical events can
significantly enhance learning experiences. I hope to see more sessions like this
that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, allowing
participants to explore their creativity while gaining essential skills. Personally,
this event motivated me to experiment further with 3D lighting in my own
projects and inspired me to share knowledge with others in a clear, engaging
way.
